I was reading this post on the GTO forum and emailed this company. These throttle bodies do in fact fit our CTS-V's. They supply both cable and electronic types.

My questions are these:

1) What is our stock TB? Is 80mm larger?
2) Site claims 10-15 rwhp, don't they all? Reality?
3) Any pitfalls or concerns?

I know that one of our guru's has at least an opinion. I love to hear it.

Thanks,

Chris

Dunno about the LS6, but I had heard several years ago that in order to get any significant benefit out of a bigger throttle body in a late '80's 5.0 mustang you needed to open up your exhaust (likely not a problem with a V and certainly not a problem with Corsa or BB) but also needed to install bigger injectors....which then led to issues regarding fuel pressure regulation, MAF sensor confusion, etc.

Of course those cars were much less high-tech than the V's.

I agree that we have sufficient LSx expertise here to address the issue more appropriately.

Our throttle bodies are 85 mm.

A while back, DTE or TPiS (can't remember which) tested a 90 mm and didn't see any appreciable gains.

If one does decide to go with a different TB, a custom tune would most likely be necessary.
