: Positive and negative wires on headlights

Anyone know what colors the positive and negative wires are on the headlights? I haven't taken the lights out yet but I'd like to know before hand so I can do everything in one shot. I'm gonna tap in to them for fog lights so they go on/off with my headlights. I dont have a manual and I've searched the forums and cant find an answer. Thanks, Pat.

Pat, you should also check your vehicle code to see if that's allowable. Some states have rules about when fog, low and high beams can and cannot be turned on.

According to Haynes, all the wires at the bulb sockets or ballasts are black. Prior to their splices, the right low beam headlight or headlight ballast wire is tan/white, the left low beam is yellow. Right high beam is light green/black, left is dark green/white. Both fog lamp power wires are purple. Prior to 2008, the color coding went all the way to the lamps. Progress.
