Escort has a new product coming soon. The mount works differently that their other detectors. I have one on preorder. I contacted Blendmount to ask if they will have a solution. They are working on one and should have it in 1-2 months.

You can check out the Max on Ecsort's site, and if you want to you can go on Blendmount's site and use chat to get on a wait list for the new mounting solution.:D

They still don't have an Escort Live solution for hard-wired detectors....

Think long and hard before ordering this new detector. It's being criticized as a marketing gimmick more than any sort of advancement in features. Unless you don't have a detector, you may want to just keep what you have already. I'm not upgrading from my 9500IX for this. I get few if any falses and it's range is awesome. Detecting a cop at 10 miles instead of 9 is meaningless. And who needs a color screen on a radar detector? Keep it Escort.

That's a great tip. Thanks.

Can you point me to the articles that criticize it? I only see the favorable ones when you go to Escort's site. I have a 9500ix and a GX65 which are basically the same detector, and I agree they are great.

I will await those articles. Thanks again.

I have checked some independent sources and here's what I found. The Max is like the 9500ix and Redline combined but without the disadvantages. Radar sensitivity is supposedly the best with false alarms being eliminated on the fly through advanced signal analysis programming, not auto learn requiring several passes. So the Max has better range than the V1 or Redline but without the annoyance of false alarms. I love my 9500ix but will trade it in for a Max.

Check out the YouTube review by Radar Roy. It's on radardetector.org.

There aren't articles per say. I saw an advertisement for the Max and immediately wanted it. My normal routine is to then start researching and I started trolling the radar detector forums. The guys on those forums are WAY too interested in radar detectors and know them in and out. They were lambasting the new Max for being nothing more than marketing hype (and these guys know the technology well). When I started trying to find some purely objective reviews, two things became clear: 1) There are no true reviews yet, and 2) The only information available is from Escort and looks like pure marketing fluff. By 'fluff' I mean terminology like High Definition (HD) Radar Performance. Please. And all of the Escort detectors use DSP...they just haven't really advertised it before now. Just look in their 'specs' webpages.

When my buyer fever passed after reading the radar forums I started thinking more rationally. My 9500ix is darn near flawless, and its limitations aren't range or falses. It just simply can't detect radar that isn't on (in situations of rapid on/off radar) or cops using things like VASCAR. I'd be better off buying a $500 police scanner or a laser shifter system than upgrading my detector. I never bought the Redline for the same reasons...the 9500ix has never let me down when active radar was in the area. Not once.
