Introducing myself: Captain

I am about to become the owner of an 89 sedan deville.

the car has fallen to me through a complexity of circumstances, but it has only about 65,000 miles on it and has been garaged its entire life.

I would like some advice as to how to deal with the fact that it has not been used at all for the last three years or so.

it also has a dead battery, possibly due to the fact that the load leveler motor runs constantly once power is restored to the system.

I am very happy to have found this site and hope that there are folks out there willing and ready to offer helpful advice to me--a new cadallic owner.

thank you.

Siphon out as much gasoline as you can, and refill with a fresh tank of premium. Run a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and Chevron cleaner w/Techron.

Examine all hoses, look at connecting points or near clamps for anything that appears cracked, damaged, etc.

Now would be a good time to flush the coolant and brake fluid.

Thats just for starters. And of course a new battery.
