I am officially at the wear bars, with exactly 4765 miles. Center, rears only. The centers are fine up front, LOL (sides aren't however)

I found this out since I developed a slow leak drivers rear (pic)
Isn't it great I picked up TWO nails. The Goodyear guy laughed at me and said he wouldn't touch it. Discount Tire guy said no prob, gimme 20 bux.

So if anybody out there thinks I "baby" this thing...well...hehe :lildevil:

So why are we here? I want your opinions. Do I:

1. Rotate them, drink more Shiners, and deal with it?
2. Replace with "hottest tire du jour"?
3. Buy CCW SP600s (http://www.ccwheel.com/street/files/wheels/SP6/main.htm#wheels) in 19", staggered sizes?
4. Save the $$ you'd spend on wheels for a Maggie?

Tough choices, yes. I wouldn't mind something to fill the wheel wells a bit more, but 19s with 35 profile tires would be similar diameter, no?
...and yes the SP600 are not very flashy, in fact quite close to stock, but i am not a "flashy" guy....NO chrome.

So....whaddya say? many thanks! :)

I was thinking about getting those same wheels. If you do get them let me know how you like them. If I do get them it will be in spring. There is a break in the weather here on long island so I may take the car out for a little this weekend. It might hit all of 50 here, heat wave.

Maybe you should get a couple more nails in the rear tires. You could shot sparks out you ass end and prolly reduce wheel hop, too.

Hey, Stealth - if you market this, remember where the idea came from.

AHAHA that one near the edge almost certainly shot out sparks today :D:D

I'm really not far behind you on wear.
I bought another wheel so I can carry a spare when I switch tires.
The wheel and spare (from another V) weighed 61 pounds. Luckily, I won't have to carry it until I get away from the run flats

I took mine in for the 2nd rotation the other day at 5,200 miles and I'm at the wear bars. The guy at Discount just laughed and said he couldn't believe it. All 4 of mine are now at the wear bars and I don't hit it hard very often. There isn't a chance in hell I'm going to spend 1400 on a new set of F1's every 5k miles. It's a daily driver and I'm putting about 1200 miles a month on. I really need the low down on what tires I should go with that's going to still give me the grip but at least give me 15k miles and isn't $330/tire. I'm going to get another rim and throw one of these worn out run flats in the trunk for a spare. So I need some help from the forum.....what's the right answer on tires that are reasonable price, good grip and good wear? Does it exist?

Weird! I have 9000 miles on my car and have 3/4 tread left. It's all highway miles though.

Combo what Dreamin said with option one. Get the new CCWs and drink more Shiners.

Daily driver. I only tend to get on it on the freeway - downshift & GO!8400 miles, 3/4 left (or better). I must not be trying hard enough.
