By disconnecting the instrument cluster and odometer? :p

(Note to those who may take that seriously and try: This doesn't work anymore. The car's computer now logs mileage.)

Are you talking CTS or V-series? Because I know a certain CTS that the owner would be willing to sell for book price if you were willing to ignore the mileage... hehe. ;)

no not at all. everything will still work, fuel gauge all gauges will work except speedo which can b switched on and off at will

Best way to slow mileage gain is to remove the engine.

deetle, I am not trying to sound like a troll here but what you are offering to do is illegal in most states, and if not illegal for you as the tech doing the work then it is illegal to sell a car with tampered odometer.

While it might be interesting from a technical perspective for some of us to know how this can be done (so we know what to look for if buying a used V from an unscrupulous seller), offering this as a service would likely be a bad thing.

If you can fix the wheel hop, though, then you are a true hero and a great american. Even if you are behind bars.

vaya con dios.

Also, Don't they send you to ass hump jail if you screw with the odometer reading?

It's worse than removing those matress tags.

I believe it's 20 years Federal pound me in the ass prison for messing with odometers! Slap on the wrist for matress tag removal.

Deetle68. Sorry, but any more talk about altering odometer readings and you're account is going to be closed. We try to maintain a certain level of honesty around here and nobody wants to be questioning one another if "he had a talk with deetle68" at one point or another and "is his mileage really accurate?".

Thank you for understanding...
