I have got the new engine installed and running but now the only thing I need is a Transmission Kick Down Cable. I checked all the local junk yards and auto parts stores and they say that they do not carry the part nor can they find me one form a vendor. Anyone with any suggestions or ideas of what I should do???

Didn't your old motor/ trans have one? If not, I can pick one up from the junkyard (going to the big yard tomorrow to pick up your intake. I can pick one up then.)

the old was some contraption the previous owner rigged up. I was not putting it back on there. And I went to my local drag strip an ran across a old buddy and he said he had a 403 intake and would sell it to me for 20 bucks. but the catch is he has to find it. And with all the junk this guy has, I will be lucky if he has it by Christmas.

So do you still want me to pick up an intake for you?

You have to talk their language or the parts jockeys can't make the connection. I always called them TV cables but they call them detent cables. Any parts store should be able to order one or rockauto has them.

We can hold off on that if he does not have the intake within the next 2 weeks I will come back to you and give you the heads up, and we can go thru with it. But I am in dire need of that able because that is causing me not to be able to drive my baby.

Ok...I'll pick up the cable for you then and hold off on the intake for now.

Honestly, it's a PITA. It's located on the passengers side of the 200r4, above the cooler lines. You essentially disconnect it from the carb, get up underneath the car with a 10mm open ended wrench (IIRC), then undo 1 bolt (btw, the cat heat shield is in the way....I removed it). You take a screwdriver and pop the plate up (to break the seal). Then you get rained on by burnt stinky trans fluid (optional depending on trans maintenance), which soaks the back of your shirt. Then you get out from under the car as the fluid pools, and have to remove 2 clips, one is easily reachable underneath (wait for the fluid to stop raining....takes about 2 or 3 minutes for it to completely stop), and one that attaches to the trans fill tube by the firewall back by the back spark plug on the pass side of the engine. I had to use a long screwdriver and pop the clip off (and destroyed the fill tube in the process) note: don't destroy your fill tube. Then you simply maneuver it out through the back of the engine bay.

Btw, I still have no idea how you damage the TV cable :?
