Here is a treat for your race car guys. Warning this is a 54 meg file, but if you want to grab a tissue (maybe several) and turn the sound up you will love the one lap around Nurburgring in a Factory m3 GTR.

http://www.dgtalpimp.com/m3_gtr_nurburgring.wmvI thought driving at Watkins Glen was the ultimate, but this course looks unbelievable. It says on its web site that the course is 20.8 km (about 13 mis). Would love to try the V there.

Thats not a V. :( (It is a M3GTR driven by Hans Stuck) but our Vs were developed there (Nurgburgring).

In the early 70's I attended a Grand Prix race at the Ring and it is hard to comprehend that track. Not a great place to watch as you only saw the cars like 14 times. I also used to work as a volunteer official at Watkins Glen back in the days of Can Am, Trans Am and Grand Prix. I would love to hear about your experience driving there in the V.

The record for a street legat car right now is 7:18.01 see here (http://speed.supercars.net/PitLane?viewThread=y&gID=0&fID=2&tID=13957) :worship:

The Nürburgring webstite is a treat also (http://213.239.207.198/nuerburgring.de/index.php?id=186&L=1) :bouncy:

The pipe down there (my data center) is a 100 Mb a second. So anyone on a large Internet pipe will feel the burn.

No kidding.. I am on a pipe too.. it too me about 10 seconds to get that 54 mb file.

That is a sweet video... Crazy driving... I certainly would love to see a V do that or an in V car camera.

That's the best driving video I've ever seen.

My (now) second favorite was also made on the Nurburging, with an early model RUF 911 (might have been the on they called yellow bird?). That guy was an incredible driver as well, may have been Porsches test driver, Walter Rohrl. If you want to see that one as well here's a link: http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-6198.html

Not sure why, but the volume did not work the first time. I re-booted the PC (thanks Microsoft/Bill) and man - was that one cool video once you have sound.

I am going to have the folks at work cut a DVD so I can also watch it on the big screen...That is one good driver. Looks to me like he passed that Porsche like nobody's business.. Glad to see he did not lap a V out there...

It looks like that would be a good track for a motorcycle ride at 100+mph.

I don't know why, but if I was driving that car, I could not stop looking at the stone chip in the windshield..Looked like the crack was getting bigger...

Man I'm just glad I'm not one of the guys in the other cars, just tryin' to stay out of his way. Great stuff.

Hey if anyone's really jonesin' for some GM race engine music. Tom Oates of Tiger Racing has some good in car videos on his site.

I especially like Mid-Ohio Lap 1. That damn CTS-V got in the way at the start.

Hans Stuck is an animal.. The confidence that he shows when overtaking the slower cars (that may or may not see him) is amazing. You can really tell he's a pro.

Hans Stuck is called the Ringmeister (http://www.hansstuck.com/en/) and Lord of the Ring (http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=7&article_id=1340&page_number=4&preview=) for a reason.

BTW, the video is available as a DVD "BMW M3 GTR Nürburgring Inboard"
Just google for a vendor.

Imagine how the poor schleps in their 'weak' 911's felt, getting passed like they were standing still. having those other cars on the track REALLY added to the perspective and feeling of ass blistering speed.
