I have a '06 CTS V I just ought 2 weeks ago and I want to change the fuel filter. What tool is required to disconnect the two lines going into the fuel filter? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, Randy! I have one buried in a box in an upper loft in my garage so can't help you there, but I do know AutoZone has 'em.

This was a pain for me, none of the tools I had worked. Ended up buying a universal scissor type disconnect tool and then had to grind some off so it would fit between the filter and the fitting. I'd post a link but I'm on my phone, it was the cheap $4 one that looks like an x and has four different tabs for different size lines.

Where is the fuel filter? Also how often should you change it out?

See attached.

The fuel filter has no routine replacement interval, it should only be replaced if restricted.
