I mean putting codes into the Nav system like 1791, my esteemed colleague

Codes??????
I program my PDA on my home computer and then IR Transfer to the V NAV computer. Much more efficient and less laborious process.

I am still confused.. what do you mean codes?

Do you mean:
A. Addresses?
B. DTC (diagnostic trouble codes)?
C. Radio stations?
D. Voice Commands
E. Other (please explain...)

Thanks,

Glad it worked for you. I couldn't get it to work with my palm pilot.

I found that the address entry must be maliciously precise in format. The NAV computer is unforgiving. Note in the CTSV NAV manual that convention requires RD instead of Road, DR for Drive, etc. I use the Palm T3 primarily because my home computer is a MAC. iPaq does not work with MAC unless you have Windows emulation software.

the nav system in the 2004 CTSV has different buttons than in that thread though.

I don't think any one with a V has discovered any code input screen for "NAV Codes" as describe in the thread in the post above, but if all you are looking for is how to play DVD's while driving then there are a lot of threads that talk about it in this forum, just do a search. Or go to the Cadillac FAQ website.

yes I am able to follow the instructions to get the 1791 feature enabled with the 2 button trick but I am a geek so I am still hoping for a way to input codes into the NAV system or at least difinitive knowledge that you CANNOT do this with our NAV model. So far no one seems to know for sure what the deal is.
