I just wanted to inform all first gen V owners that we have developed in conjunction with Edelbrock an E-Force supercharger kit. We installed one on a stock 05 CTS-V and it made 529hp and 503ftlbs of torque on 7lbs boost to the rear tires. Here are some pics. There is also fiberglass cowl hoods available. (its a must to fit supercharger)

Thanks,
Marc

Ok wait. So a totally stock car with only this kit? That's an increase of about 200whp. Seems like a lot to me

Not totally stock...geez...read the post. It has a fiberglass cowl hood (must have apparently). Prolly adds at least 50-60 RWHP.

Surprised to see that kind of gain without headers/exhaust. That's a huge increase on a stock car.

are there any plans to obtain a CARB certification for the this setup?

I'm not surprised. my car made 452rwhp on a wimpy mp112 older generation smaller blower with no other modifications.

That's sweet. Is edlebrock going to sell it or is G&G going to sell it? Wasn't DMM putting one on his car?

Sorry guys...... (clarification) yes we used OBX 1 7/8 SS headers and with Magnaflow catback exhaust.

We are working on the price for the kit, so I don't have those numbers yet.

The price of the hood is $700 plus Freight and you will have to cut in your own wiper sprayers.

We have the dyno sheets to prove the numbers!!!!! And of course you have to have the engine tuned. Trust me those are solid numbers for the E-Force supercharger. Heck I've got a 06 CTS-V with a LS7 making 620 and this car gives me a run for my money. If anyone was on the Hot Rod Power tour we had the car on display at Magnaflows trailer at every stop.

Maybe a silly question but are there more pictures of both the blower on the car and of the hood as well? Going this route is many moons away for me and still haven't decided if I am going to stay NA or go FI but it doesn't hurt to have all the info in advance!

CARB certified? I believe the answer to that is yes; but I put in a call to Edelbrock to verify.

The big issue with C.A.R.B. is that it is vehicle specific so Eddelbrock or whomever need a E.O.# for 04-05 CTS-V and 06-07 CTS-V. But i imagine it would definitely help sales of this kit.

I wonder how the engine will hold up to that much of an increase in output.

I'm pretty sure all of edlebrocks eforce kits are carb certified and 50 state legal. They are located in southern California after all. If the V kits isn't certified yet I'm sure it soon will be. I'd order one for sure.

Is the hood required? I thought the E-force fit under the stock hood.

It fits under the stock hood if you trim the inside of the stock hood.

Nice gains... With a good tune I don't see why it wouldn't give you plenty miles of fun... I bet you were able to add a few degrees of timing over a Maggie due to the efficiency...

The pictures seem to show clearance issues at the throttle body and intake tube. If I remember correctly, DMM trimmed the hood supports and insulation or something at that area, and it fit fine.

Too bad this supercharger didn't come out back in '05. As it is, most LS6s are getting long in the tooth, but this is certainly a great development for the many who'd like to go FI. At $6-7k, this would be the way to go. At $7-8k, it might still be the way to go, assuming that 529 rwhp is representative and confirmed on other dynos.

Wonder if they'll make the instructions as good as Magnuson's.

Yea but how much is a good rotating assembly for an LS6? I mean we are talking about $2k for a decent rotating assembly. And you have a brand new (essentially) motor with a fairly efficient TVS on it. Then hey port the heads, toss in a good cam... Call it $10k and you have 600whp +/-. That really isn't bad considering cost to modify other vehicle types. My cobalt for example, your looking at like at least 15k to make 600whp as reliably as the LS would.

To the OP...if you were trying to gauge interest by tossing a teaser, you have almost 1k views. Do you have some sort of idea on a price and level of effort to install this kit you developed?

RyRidesMotoX

^^^ +1million...
I really like this idea. I was originally planning on having to put a whole new motor since I was going to go to rectangular poet heads and a build lower end, so what's a used block? 5-600 for an iron?

If they do it like this, where its a straight bolt on, it would definitely be on the list instead of just heads/cam. I'll just be careful to not nuke the rear end

This guy never delivered on anything. We have a legit vendor that we have gotten with to provide the parts of the kit (box 1 specifically) we need without being burdened with the crap that we don't need and cannot use. Forum member Tommy Compton is getting the first one to make sure the bugs are worked out before the floodgates open.

Just a bit longer and you can have the E-Force TVS 2300 for a thousand or more less than the Magnuson 112.

That would be great! I wonder if a group buy would drive the cost down any further? As you said, I'm looking for a stripped down kit - don't want BAP, injectors and the other misc crap.

Based on the flexibility that Mike @ S-K Speed demonstrated during the McLeod RST/RXT group buy, I think that there's a good chance that your request will be accommodated.
