I am a new guy so I hope that you all will bear with me a little bit. I own a 1967 deville with a 429. My intent is replace the 429 with a 472 as well as its transmission (from a 1968 fleetwood). Does anyone see any issues mounting the 1968 472 and transmission to my 1967 deville?

I am very familiar with engine swaps, but not the one you intend to make.

I would not consider the swap for these reasons:

In that era, the Fleetwood was not a DeVille, it was a true Fleetwood, meaning that the chassis was different. That being said, the transmission tail stock and driveshaft may not interchange, nor may the mounts.

You will need to take a lot of measurements BEFORE you turn a wrench. I would expect nothing to interchange including the shift linkage.
