I feel pretty dumb for posting this, but cannot figure out if my car has bluetooth or not. I have an 11 CTS 3.0 with no Nav, but I do have the hands free button on the right side of the steering wheel. It keeps wanting to connect me to OnStar calling, and when I say bluetooth commands it doesnt respond, so I am assuming I do not have it. But how can I tell for sure?

press the voice button on the steering wheel and say "handsfree" then "Bluetooth"...if you don't hear a response, then you don't have it.

I didnt know if there was a bluetooth symbol anywhere that I wasnt seeing. I said handsfree and it takes me to the OnStar calling menu instead.

Look for RPO code UPF under spare tire cover for Bluetooth feature. Kinda thought after 2008 year, Bluetooth was standard but may be based on having radio RPOs U2S or UAV.

Since you don't have Nav then this is the only radio option with Bluetooth but I think you need steering wheel radio controls?

Go here for more info, its only available with 2 radio options...http://gmtotalconnect.com/home/?brand=Cadillac

sinistersix,

Most newer vehicles have the option to pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the vehicle that can be used with the OnStar vehicle speakers. Check out this site for vehicle compatibility and pairing assistance, helps. http://bit.ly/18yTbLJ. I hope this helps!

Hello sinistersix,

I see that Jessica from OnStar has already answered your post and provided a beneficial link for you. If you provide me your VIN, I can verify that your vehicle is capable for Bluetooth pairing. Like Jessica sated, most newer vehicles do have that option. You can private message me if you would like to continue our interaction that way.

Radios displayed at site for bluetooth are inaccurate.

With a factory part or aftermarket?

Factory. One of the members traded their CTS in and sold me their VCIM. I was close to going with the costar blue star aftermarket one too.

So a VCIM swap and we have bluetooth? How much are they normally from the factory? Plug and play?

Yes, but you cannot order a new VCIM. (has to be a used one) It is plug and play but you have to remove the back seat and trim/rear deck to get to it on the 08s.
