Both of our 2008 remote control cases are cracked and when I asked the dealer if there were any options to solve this problem, they said no and basically I would need to buy new remotes and have them reprogramed. I thought I remembered seeing that there was an accessory remote and asked them about that and they said there was no such thing. I did some searching on the internet and found something and printed it out with the part number. I took the print out to the dealer and asked them about it and the first guy in the accessory dept said there was no such thing. I asked him if he could try looking it up with the part number and he said again that it didn't exist. I pressed him to just try and of course it shows up and says it's $155. This other guy overhears my conversation and leans over and says those remotes were available for his Tahoe when he bought and showed a little more information on the little display on the remote such as lock/unlock status, etc.

I was wondering if anybody also has cracked their remote cases and replaced them? One of my remotes has the faceplate cracked in two spots and the other in only one spot. I tried switching the one with two cracks to the one with only one crack and it appears that the remote with one crack wouldn't work with the car anymore. I thought maybe the battery was dead so I changed it out but even after that it wouldn't work. I guess the battery has been dead so long that it's no longer programed to the car. While changing the batter, it seems that the guts of the remote is just placed in the remote shell and so I'm wondering if anybody has replaced the remote shell and if so, where and/or what part number did you buy?

When I broke mine I ordered the new style remote for 2009 and up. It works just fine and mine is an '07 and it take like 30 seconds to program it yourself with the directions that are in the owners manual. No need to go to the dealer for the part or the programing. I got mine off Ebay. Here's a link to the first one I found on Ebay. Good Luck!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-2012-CADILLAC-ESCALADE-SMART-KEY-KEYLESS-REMOTE-FOB-CLICKER-6-BUTTONS-/190652963417?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2012%7CMake%3ACadillac%7CModel%3AEscal ade&hash=item2c63cd5a59&vxp=mtr

If instead someone has bought the accessory remote, I'd be interested to hear your feedback on the remote. The part number for the one I'm thinking about buying is 19157237.

If Its just the case cracking, I saw replacement remote cases for the escalade by the register last time I went to autozone. I was surprised Bc my remotes show no wear and didn't think it broke enough to warrant a company making just the plastic shell

Hello halfmonkey,

I am sorry for the experience you had with the dealership. I see other forum members did offer advice on ordering a new remote. If you have any questions or concerns, please private message me and we can continue to interact that way.

If you just need to replace the casing of the remote, I found my casing at Auto Zone. They matched up my remote exactly, and we switched the casing out. Now my remotes looks brand new.....
