I remember once someone complained from bad door seals when he went through a water puddle and the water entered the car.

:hide: could it be u had ppl sit in the back with soak and wet shoes? that would leave the carpets damn for a while, and i mean a few days if the car is not under the sun or dry air...

Found out where watter is coming from . Water is coming in thru inside door panel you can push under bottom of door if water comes out or is damp water is coming thru plastic dust shield between door and inside door panel . Don't know how to stop it yet.

I bought a used 2000 Escalade and have had trouble with water, mostly on the passenger side, causing wet carpet. I haven't been able to pin it down but I think the door seals have flattened out and, in a hard rain, water is forced under the seals and down to the carpet. I haven't been able to prove this but it is not difficult to push my fingers between the seal and the body of the vehicle. What is worse is that I can not seem to find aftermarket seals to replace the OEM seals. I may end up trying new OEM seals, on the passenger side. This has been very frustrating and need to try whatever I can to avoid further damage to the carpet (mold). Hope this is helpful and maybe someone else had something to offer.

nstar - are the drain holes in the bottom of the door plugged by paint or anything else like a misaligned rubber door weather seal?
As you already know that would cause the door to fill with water and overflow to the interior. Do you hear water sloshing in the door?
Let us know.

I know how to stop it. Bring it back to the dealer for a warranty repair. That's just ridiculous that it's leaking like that.

I had a mercury that had water in the footwells. The dealer accused me of causing the problem by installing aftermarket speakers (even though the leaking was there with the factory speakers). The problem on my mercury was that the window gaskets inside the door weren't installed properly.

It's very interesting that you'd have this on both doors.
