i just got it and tried it last night. It didnt make much noise. I hope this thing is a good one. went off at mall x and k band first and then vg2. I really want to know if this will pick up a cop. any ideas. Maybe my buddy, who is a cop, can shoot his gun at me. that will be the test of all tests.

Yeah, not the greatest power point placement. But hardwiring is easy to do and will leave that access point for something else. V1 is the best!

On the Solo2, just make sure to have fresh batteries always ready.

They say the Solo is supposed to give you a battery low warning when you have about 6 hours to go. I'm thinking of picking up a used Solo RD5110 for those times when I venture out of Virginia. I just can't justify $250+ for an S2 (or a V1 or Bel or Escort 8500 for that matter) for such rare and out-of state use.

Enjoy the S2.

I'm debating on doing it myself or if I should talk to my sales rep and see if I can figure out a way that I can get it wired with out losing or messing up my warranty. My friends and I one time did a garage installed stereo that slowly ruined my car at the time. I don't want to mees this car up at all!

Everyone please note, there is no reason to post this in the cts-v forum, its not a cts-v issue, its a general comment question about a radar detector.... i am going to move it to a more appropriate place.

I've had my SoloS2 for almost a year, and I absolutely love it. It's one of the best out on the market right now, and it has excellent range. If you put it on highway mode, it will be less sensitive around town, and will not pick up as much x or k band from buildings and such. I would suggest the smart cord for it, since it tends to eat batteries, if you don't mute it or turn it off. The smart cord also has a built in mute button. I think you'll be very happy with it. Good luck.
