With the later years, the front grille is different and nicer and there are some cosmetic touches to the rear at the trunk. Overall visible changes were minimal. Of course make sure you compare apples to apples and only compare Perf/Prem. to the same model.

I think the grille from the 08-10 look nicer. New ones look plastic and el cheapo

That's the right time and place to refer to the following thread:

Thanks to RAB for the comprehensive list of feature differences throughout the years
Cheers!

I prefer the 08-10 grill also!

Well for sure the Lux. model with 17 inch wheels and cheapo rims looks real bad compared to Perf./Prem. with 18 inchers and betters wheels options. Fog lamps also add to a better look.

The rocker panels from 2010 forward give the car a significantly different look as well. Where 2008-09 was more classic the flared panels from 2010 on gave a decidedly more sporty look.

Definitely agree. Actually, the original great looking grille is the same from model years 2008 to 2011 - which is the m-y of my CTS. Then Cadillac went with the aforementioned plasticky el cheapo looking grille for m-y's 2012-13. LOL!
Of course, all things considered, 2011 is THE model-year to have for the 2008-2013 2nd gen CTS. :stirpot:

I have a 2009 but liked the 2012 sport grille so much I swapped it out. I can say the 2012 grille is much heavier and has more depth to it.

That's interesting. IMO the optional 2012 "TL1" Sport Grille is quite an improvement (more sporty looking) compared to the standard grille for 2012-13. If I owned a 2012-13 CTS I would be changing out the standard grille in favor of the sport grille - for me that would be modification job #1.

Agreed, RAB ... that's exactly what I did ... the black on black looks good ...

Yes exm22psu, I bet it does look good. Do you possibly have a photo of your '09 car (with the '12 sport grille applied) that you can post here?

Don't be haters; the 2012-13 grille is of course the nicer grille. If I still had my 2010 then that would have been the nicest grill.
