For those lookin to put rims on their ATS, I wanted to put up picks showing how they look with 20's and the gaps you have without dropping the car.

Ofcourse waiting for a drop kit...

I like what you did to the front of the car. Is that actual paint or a temp coating of some kind? By the way I am surprised 20's fit. I have the premium with 18's and I don't see much if any room for 20's. I was actually thinking 19's. good info, thanks for the pics.

It's actually a wrap I did upfront. I didn't want to mess with the paint and incase it didn't come out how I visioned it in my head I can always peel it out.

And the 20's are not bad I know they get a bad rap but they are comfortable and give me a good ride.

Thanks!

What size/offset rims and tires?

Size of the wheels has nothing to do with gap. It's putting tires too tall or too small that affect. Anything else is an optical illusion...

Actually if you want to get technical, tire size has a direct impact on wheel gap because of the overall diameter. Ex. 225/55/17 is 26.74" and a 235/35/20 tire is actually less, at 26.48"....so unfortunately since most factory tires are so tall, you either have the same overall diameter with large rims & small tires...or sometimes less. Illusion? Eh, I guess I see your point.

http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator

Anyways, I simply wanted to know the rim size/offset and tire sizes because I think his car looks good even at stock ride height, so I wanted a point of reference.

I'm putting 20's on mine also. From the pics you have I see the tires are 235/30/20 right? I ordered 245/30/20 tires. Are your rims 8 or 8.5? I'm hoping the tires have enough room. Chart says 235/30/20 is 25.3 inches diameter and 245/30/20 is 25.8 inches. From your pics IT LOOKS LIKE MINE WILL FIT. Do you get any rubbing or did you have to modify anything? Thanks

duneless post pics when you get them. What offset did you go with? I will be ordering a set soon. ThanksTruthfully I don't know the exact offset. They are old rims that happened to have 5x115 bolt pattern. I think it is a 40 offset. They were bought for my jeep wrangler years ago. they have been in the garage sitting. When my tires get here next week I will get them mounted and I'll put them on. I'll take pics then. My rims will stick out some. So I'm not sure right now how much suspention travel there will be. If they rub due to that then I will modify some things. You can see my thread on 20inch gold copper rims. I should have gotten 235/30/20 tires to be safe. I got 245/30/20. But I will make them work.I'll keep you posted and get pics.

----------

Can't wait to get my 20's on and stop rolling with these 17inch donuts. People don't like 20's but they need to realize that high end cars now don't come with less than 20inch rims. To me the smallest rim on this car should be an 18. Then on through 20 for an upgrade. Tony's rims are an example of what the rims should look like. If I want donuts I'll go to the bakery. But to each their own.

I have been checking out their website, there are a few styles that I like but wasn't sure if any were made to fit the ATS yet. Also like some of the TSWs. Does either have the correct off set and bolt pattern yet? I want to stick with the staggered look.

Just put 20's on my new ats. Looks bad ass and the ride is great. Went with 245/30/r20. I'll be adding the D3 body kit and pfadt parts in the near future. Would look better with a slight lowering kit to fill the bit of gap but still looks amazing.

Thanks man. No rubbing at all. I got the correct offset so the wheels don't stick out. Yeah I like the 20's also. 19's would look good but anything smaller looks funny to me. The car suits 20's. Everybody's different though I guess and unfortunately some of those who don't share the same taste like to run their mouths instead of keeping their opinions to themselves. I plan on doing more to it. I want more power for sure but a subtle body kit and a bit of a lowering kit with some power upgrades would make it perfect.

what is the offset of those rims? And mine only stick out a half an inch. But I made something out of nothing with my rims being old. I need to sell some sets of rims before I buy new ones. I even have a set from my 745li that are brand new with nitto tires. But I want to look at different off sets to see what I want to go with after winter. Along with other things. I just put leds on last weekend.they look pretty good. Luxury models needs more light up front. But hey like the ride. Hope you don't keep them on through winter. I'm sure its right around the corner for you.e i[. QUOTE=turbo_ats;11197169]Thanks man. No rubbing at all. I got the correct offset so the wheels don't stick out. Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I still have the factory wheels and tires that I will be swapping over soon because there will be snow on the roads pretty soon for sure. I have a silverado I drive also so I use that most of the winter. The wheels I went with for the ATS are Niche M-137. http://www.mhtwheels.com/mht-luxury-alloy-wheel.cfm?id=9314 I can't remember the offset but the shop I got them from here made sure that they were correct so there wouldn't be any rubbing or sticking out. I plan on swapping my headlights out to the LED ones later. I'm not sure why Cadillac didn't just make them all that way. Because I wanted a 6 speed manual I had to sacrifice the AWD and the LED lights as they were not available with the Manual Transmission. I'm not a fan of sport shift automatic. I prefer to shift myself in a car like that. It makes you feel more connected to the car and adds some fun to driving.

Looks good man! I'm getting anxious about purchasing some wheels myself. I've been looking at few different brands waiting for the correct bolt pattern and offsets to be offered. I want to keep them staggered so I may have to stick with 19s, not sure. Also I want the concave look. It is good to see more examples like yours though. I really did not think 20s would fit. My ATS looks like it sits lower than most others. Maybe it is just me. Again, looking good!

But like he said the ride is really good. I thought I would feel alot more with 30 series tires but the car is really light so it doesnt mess with the ride. Kinda like on rails now. I like the feel isntead of the 17 inch donuts on. I like 19's as well but hard to get tires. If you do most times an arm an a leg for a tire. With no spare in the trunk sucks. Unless you are going with run flats again.

I put the stock wheel next to my new one and there was about a 1/2" difference. It may be your tire size that made the difference. Mine are 245/30/r20

I have the same tire size as you. IvI've had mine on for a couple jnths now though. I could be mistaken. But everyone says the car is a little higher and it looks it to me. But there is still room for a drop anyway. The gap isn't that much but I have went ove big bumps and no bottom out. Not a lot of trwve comared to most cars when compressed. They will be coming off in a couple days. Getting cold. I don't want to get stuck swapping in the snow. 2 years now we had early snow storms. Ill be driving my wrangler but still I like to take it out for dinner and such on the weekend's you know. Just curious, is there a chance that the models with MRC sit lower than the rest? I really don't see much of a gap in the wheel wells. Especially in the rear. Going to look at some 19s and 20 inch wheels next weekend.

Maybe. I think he has a luxury like mine. The gap is small with 20's. I haven't seen any one with 20's on a performance model. Or even premium. Is there anyone out there with that set up? If so let us know. Or am I wrong on just those models having the MRC?
