Sounds pretty minor - only 1600 cars total. Always positive when they spot the problem before any customers complain.

Agreed. Hope they can solve the gremlins people have been reporting. Despite frustration with issues, I still very much like the car.

The issue: GM manufacturing discovered at the assembly plant that one manufacturer lot of a capacitor in the brake light system was "on the high end of tolerance for equivalent series resistance" which allowed internal electrical noise to activate the stop lamps when the brakes were not being applied. GM felt this may pose a safety issue, in that cars following would not take "real" brake application seriously, and could lead to a crash. It only affects 531 ATSs manufactured from April 26 thru May 13th, as well as 277 XTSs and 802 Chevy Impalas.

So it is for a very specific issue, and doesn't affect very many of us.
