So, my 06 V8 is throwing codes for the cats, now starting to exhibit "clogged" symptoms. I will R&R this weekend. Does anyone know the exhaust manifold bolts torque values?

Didn't the 06 cats get covered by the extended warranty? Or was that only 05?

Only 04-05 srx 4.6 and 05 sts 4.6.

Also, it says to discard the old bolts in the procedure, but not the nuts. And replace studs as necessary. Not sure if it comes with ne hardware when you buy it. Also says to use new gaskets.

Tighten the exhaust manifold studs to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.) .
Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) .
Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) .

Great, thanks. Yes it comes with new studs, manifold gasket and collector gasket.
BTW, how I'd become a "dues paying" member?

Same here, I am pretty decent shade tree guy...willing to try anything once. 12 years working on fighter jets, I think I can turn a wrench, lol

Yeah only with fighter jets if you overlook something when you're turning wrenches, no big deal right? :alchi:

F-4s and A-10s.....years ago. Codes were 420, 430 and171, 174. Started to act clogged Sunday. Codes have been on since Wednesday. Originally was throwing 174 about 6 months I tried the electrical tape on the MAF sensor. That worked until now, but MPG dropped. I only tried it because the dealer R2 the offending O2 sensor about18 months ago. I had a Cat go bad on a previous car, this feels identical. RA has both Cats with hardware for about $300 each, that doesn't suck too much.
