I am evaluating replacing my dash cluster myself and was trying to open the dash. I reviewed a post describing removal of the top of the dash for a 99 but these instructions don't seem to work on my 2000.

I removed the A/C vents and related screws. I cannot seem to pry off the defroster vent to access those screws. Plus the lip of the dash still seems attached in the front around the A/C vents.

Maybe the 2000 is different with the air bags and side airbags?

Not sure I need to replace the cluster yet but am doing my homework in case the dealer wants an arm and a leg.
