: What is the best product to clean up and remove rust on real wire wheels?

The spokes are inserted extremely tight and there's no room for brushing, whats the best chemical to use on them that won't ruin the chrome finish. Wouldn't Muratic acid work?

Thanks,

No. The acid will mess it up. Eagle One wire and chrome wheel cleaner, Simple Green are good. Sometimes I use the leaf blower or compressed air to blow out the water, good for tight spaces.

Naval Jelly from LOCKTITE

I also used Naval Jelly on my old set of wires. Of course, areas where the chrome is damaged will not be restored, but they won't look rusty anymore. I applied, scrubbed with a toothbrush, and used a pressure washer. Wheels looked good.

You may want to try dry ice blasting if the rust and dirt is more persisting?
