Hi all,

l searched the forum and didn't find any answers. My driverís door is stuck closed. Engine is out of the car right now and no battery or power.
I can unlock and lock the door manually from both key and the knob inside. I can tell it is locked because outside handle has no tension when locked and does feel normal when unlocked. I took door panel off and it looks like everything is working ok inside. I reached in and pulled on the rod and still no go. I believe this started last year when I had the car on jack stands. Think maybe the frame flexed enough to bind the door. I tried picking up on the handle etc.. while opening.
Any ideas???

Is the rod connected? Does it have tension? Usually that's why the door handle has no tension. Try to reach your hand in there where the rod connects and unlatch it.

thanks,
the tension that I was talking about is on the piece that you push with your thumb, locked it just goes in freely. Unlocked it has some tension and can tell it is moving something inside.
I did reach in and pulled on the rod and it all appears to be working fine. I sprayed wd-40 from the inside of the door on all the moving parts. I did notice a small hole where I can see the striker. Do you think I can get a star socket in there and unscrew it with the door closed? It is probably not something anyone has tried before but figured I would ask. I'm just a rookie at this stuff..

I wonder if having the engine out is causing it. Being a convertible, the body has more flex to it than a hard top. The loss of all the weight up front may be causing things to shift a bit.
Have you tried putting a jack on the frame under the center of the door and applying a little pressure there?
