Hi Guys,

I bought a 89 Brougham with the 307 4bl, only has 58`000KM original, the only issue is the heater not working, the old fan was burned out, so I replaced it, still not working, but if I ground the new fan it will work with car on or off, this shouldn't happen right?

Where would be a good starting place, any advise? I want to plate it but I need to repair this heater to get the safety

Thanks guys

Sounds like the heater control module (on top of the heater box in the engine room) has failed. I've had the same problem with both of mine (81 & 83). Can still be found in wrecking yards for about $25.00.

I'm confused? you have no blower or no hot air? Does it blow in the defrost mode? An inop. fan is usually the ground wire from the underhood power module. That ground wire goes to the center of the firewall by the hood bumper, Remove it and clean it. The motor itself screws into plastic and that screw can be loose, corroded preventing a good ground. If I recall the 307 had a hot water valve that requires vacuum to close it. Are the hoses to the heater core both hot?
