Been toying with the idea of blacking out the grills on my Glacier Blue Vagon. Here's some Photoshop voodoo. Let me know what you think.

Throw up some front facing pics, kind of hard to tell. Although it is hard to get past the glacier blue...

Nice...like telling someone their wife is ugly. I'll mock up some front facing pics tonight.

Lol explains the # of views vs # of comments.... "If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all". I think everyone is trying to be polite ;)

Jk; I think the black grill looks much better

I'll say that I was apprehensive when I bought it (sight unseen 1200mi away). In person, it's actually pretty great and I've received nothing but compliments. But I certainly understand the gut reaction when looking only at photos.

So, 1 vote for black out. Thanks

If the wheels are black, black out the grille. If they're silver, leave the grille.

Personally, I love the look of the Glacier Blue with some sinister blcack out. Overall, I think blacked out is played out. But with Glacier Blue, its like WTPoop!

The Glacier Blue is an interesting color. It will probably be one of the rarest colors ever - for a reason... but that doesn't mean it's bad. Just an almost-feminine color and makes people pause... like seeing a big tatted out black guy in a Cooper Mini. You have to look twice. :D

Anyway, I think with the light colors like yours, blacking out the grill to match the wheels is WIN. Another +1 for that, but IMHO just don't go crazy with blacking out the chome trim pieces, etc.

On topic, I think the black great looks good. I don't typically like the black out stuff but actually makes yours look more aggressive.

Are you going to use plastidip? Then if you don't like it you could always peel it off.
I agree with what you said about the color in person. There were about 100cts-v's at cota last weekend including a light gold/champagne V coupe. Everyone I talked to about it agreed it looked great in person but we all hated it in pictures

Definitely Plastidip. If I find I like it, I can always paint it eventually. The next question is gloss or matte...

Yeah, Cadillac wasn't crazy when they came up with these colors. And Glacier Blue wasn't a 'what about the women who drive CTS-Vs' color choice. In person, it's pretty kick ass. Blue in sunlight, silver in shade, and picks up the colors of surrounding objects to give it a multi-color pearlescent appearance.

+1 on blacking out lighter colored cars. Doing it on black cars is really played out. Hope to see that Vagon at some of the Supercar Saturday shows in Bannockburn or Bolingbrook since you're local.

lol j/k. It is a rare color. I'm going against the grain and think it looks better stock. The contrast between the light color car and black grille seems a bit much and the other surrounding chrome. Although a good point was made with the black wheels and black grille. Is it ok if I comment on the calipers...:D

Gloss, DEFINITELY! I had the matte on the grille of my black raven and wanted to glossify it. With the blue, the gloss black will pop...

I always wondered what it would look like with black accents. Was looking at a ats in this colorthe other day. I think it is a great combo as Long as it is glossy black.

I like it stock personally unless you're blacking out all the chrome.

I'm thinking a full chrome blackout will be murdering it. I need some kids washable black finger paint to play with these ideas :)

Your car looks great stock! I agree with those who are tired of the blacked out look. You already have something unique within this small community, why change your Vagon to look more like other guys V's?

Typically I like black. On your car they both look good. I kind of like the chrome on the light blue.

Personally, I like the color. I'd tint it out first things, first. Then I'd black out the mesh portion to match the black rims, but leave chrome trim around the grill and rest of car except maybe black out the badges as well. I, myself, would do a black gloss not a huge fan of the matte...has more of a cheap-ish feel on a Cadillac. Yes, as stated above PLEASE get rid of the red calipers! That's the only thing I can possibly say the I dislike about your Vagon. Paint them black, glacier blue...or switch off with stock silvers or something lol

Appreciate all the opinions guys. Both positive and negative are fine. Ultimately you have to see it in person to make a final verdict. The calipers, just like the Glacier Blue paint, make a whole lot more sense when you see it in person.

Black chrome or go home!
