Can you free up some pm space please?

I was wondering if you got a mounting solution for the battery you got. I'm looking for some pictures before i decide which battery to go with. My battery is starting to go and i have had the same luck in the past with the optima's. I looking into getting the same battery as you but need to see how its mounted. I want to be sure it will meet the track regulations That i go to.

I did see that you came up with something but i was not able to picture it.
Thanks for any help and pictures.

If I knew for certain which one of the two you sent me was the good one, I'd probably have it done by now. Plus, besides the fact that I'm not relishing doing it, the car isn't exhibiting anything bad at the moment.

Yeah, I'm procrastinating.

Got to admit, I miss all of you back.

Hang in there Odla, I'll get you the info.
There are 3 options I can share.
The one I actually have now, is a trunk mount.
(Just no pics until I get my car back from the shop next weekend)
I'll get you the info on the 2 stock mount's also.
All will pass track tech, and use Odyssey batteries.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Here are the Odyssey Battery Options:

For semi-stock fit:
PC1200MJT
http://odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc1200mjt.htm

with HD1200SM Hold Down
http://odysseybatteries.com/accessories/hd925_1200sm.htm

Heavy Metals is the one who got this to work and it looks great.
I wish I could find his pic and post it.
Heavy, if you have that pic please post.

PC1200MJT w/Metal Jacket is a very tough & durable battery with that weighs less than most with similar specs.
It helped establish Odyssey, before they started making all the OEM sizes they offer now.
I had 2 PC1200's that each served duty in 2 cars.
That's why I originally wanted to put one of those in my V.

For Stock Fit this should work:
78-PC1500
http://odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc1500_78.htm

This is the Odyssey Group 78 Battery without top posts, which helps with height clearance.
Many have successfully installed other brands of Group 78 Batteries.
I never tired a Group 78, in stock location, so I can't say for sure (but odds are very good).

The dimensions compare as follows:
Group 101: 10.25L x 7.06W x 6.7H
78-PC1500: 10.07L (at base) x 7.0W x 7.13H

For Trunk Mount I have this:
34/78-PC1500
http://odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc1500.htm

with HDB1500 Billet Hold Down
http://odysseybatteries.com/fullsize/pc1500_billet.htm

I went this route to free up room for my Dry Sump Tank, in the stock battery location.
I can't send a pic until I get my car back next weekend.

A PC2150T w/HDB2150 might have been sweeter.
http://odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc2150sae.htm
http://odysseybatteries.com/fullsize/pc2150_billet.htm

However, it's overkill as the 78-PC1500 has been more than adequate.
For guys with crazy stereos, it's probably the ticket though.

Great! I do appreciate the info. No worries on the trunk mount. I already know I can't do the trunk mount. Ill see if I can get heavy to chime in on his mounting. I'm thinking of going with either the group 78 or the pc1200. Depends on which battery is best in terms of performance.

Thanks guys.

That's somewhat easy.

The PC1200 is more of a rugedized battery for Heat Resistance and Fast Recharging (with it's very rigid case and optional Metal Jacket).

The 78-PC1500 has better specs for Cranking Current and Reserve Capacity and it is specifically designed for automotive applications.

Either one is excellent and should outlast your V.

Great thanks!

I just ordered the PC1200T the person i spoke too said that since im getting the hold down i wont need the mjt. The mj stands for metal jacket. He said the mounting bracket replaces the metal jacket that they send with the mjt version.

Now ill be looking for the plate.
