When I first get into the car (I have base stereo w/ in dash CD changer) before I ever put the key in the ignition I can hear the CD changer motoring around like its changing CD's. This keeps up for a long time. What's up with that?

I'm not sure if it's changing cd's to you driver # or if the nav system is setting up. When my car does it it sounds like a fan or a cd spinning and it only lasts until the interior lights dim to off and then it stops.

Is this after you've unlocked the car using your remote?

Doe the message, CD Initializing, appear on the display when it happens? We have had it happen a few times. There should be a couple threads on the problem. I believe it was moved to the stereo section.

I don't believe so. I was just going in and out of the garage after I had been earlier playing with the cid customization screen. ( the key was out of the ignition, car unlocked with the drivers door open).

However - I just went out to the garage to open the door so I could give more details and of course its not doing it anymore. Hopefully it stays that way. If not I continue with details on this thread.

No messages. The screen was blank. Only the dome lights were on with the door open.

Take both remotes with you into the car and lock and unlock the car with the same remote and then try between the two and see what happens. It might be something being set up to driver #1 or 2
