I just recently purchased an 06 DTS. I LOVE this car, however, I am very disappointed in the sound system. I just traded an 03 Buick Park Ave Ultra with the Concert Sound III system in it. INCREDIBLE factory radio. The one in the Caddy doesn't even come CLOSE to this. The frequency response seems compressed - not much bass at all and highs kind of flat. I have adjusted it every which way and still - minimal bass. I'm not asking for thumping bass, but want a more "fuller" sound. Is this typical for Cadillac sounds systems? I don't believe I have the Bose system as I don't see the Bose logo anywhere. My first question was...............can the system work if the power amp isn't working? The system sounds like a "non-power amped" system like the systems in many other cheaper cars. Thoughts anyone?????

If you're not happy with the sound, you'll have to upgrade the system. There are thousands of choices of components.

An easy fix for most vehicles is to simply replace the head unit. Aftermarket head units typically haven't e powerful amps and more tuning options, equaling a better sounding system for little effort and a low price. This can all be done in your driveway with products from Walmart. You will need a dash "fitment kit", wiring harness adapter, a new head unit, and lots of little butt connectors and a set of crimpers.
