So I just swapped the license plate bulbs on my ATS premium 3.6 AWD. I wanted to get all LEDs going to match the running lights and door handles. Thus far I think I notice a slight hot spot on the rear view camera at night due to the new license plate bulbs. I'm interested to see how things change when I swap the reverse bulbs. The rear view camera seems to be of poor quality anyway and as far as I can tell the sensors will still react the same. Does anyone have experience with this?

ive already converted all lights inside and out (except headlights and reverse light) to LEDs.
license plate ones looks great. interior looks great. i dont want to change the reverse light to LED yet because i cant get the dam socket off LOL. it is there VERY tight. and i think the more "natural" color of the reverse light helps the rearview camera "see" better. not sure but i think LEDs might make it worse, since at night the reverse light does a great job at illuminating the ground.

I had one defective reverse LED but did manage to get the bulbs out. Took me an hour. Had to lay under my car and get a craftsman robogrip involved. I believe they turn to release toward the passenger side. Simply could not get enough leverage reaching under the fascia as the owners manual suggests.

I noticed this issue with the camera so I took my dealerships chrome Cadillac License frame off and had this made to reduce the frame lights reflecting off the frame. I think it's worked and I love the look.

what store did u buy those LEDs in? i dont know any store that would sell wedge SMD LEDs. i know pep boys or auto zone had regular wedge LEDs but those are very VERY dim. ive only seen wedge SMD LEDs online so far...it would be useful to know a store that carries these.

Donavo where did you find the LED lights for the interior? And how hard were they to replace?

I had spares from my previous cars. I got them online. Search for SMD LED wedge bulbs. That's all you need for the interior, the glove box, foot well, bottom of front doors, license plate, trunk and reverse. Make sure they are smd cuz the regular ones are pathetically dim. The interior is probably the trickiest to change. The front dome, the ENTIRE plastic frame snaps off, and the back above door lights need to have 2 screws removed and the whole plastic assembly needs to be taken out for bulb access. All the other ones are way easy. For some of them, like the rear exterior ones, directional LEDs are a better idea for a brighter effect. I'll post a diy on it eventually.

Very Cool, more accurately I live In RB in a gated community across the bridge from North County Fair Mall, we probably share the same school district.

I've only seen one ATS in the wild it was pulling out of the RB Vons parking lot and it was night and I was driving by so it might have been wishful thinking that I saw my headlights, what color is yours and I'll keep an eye out for it too.

Quick question.

Which exact bulbs did you order? I have a feeling our car needs "CANBUS Proof" bulbs and VLED which is where I usually had ordered from seems to have no CAN BUS proof ones right now...

This is for LED license plate lights
