Lets see some interior pics. stock or modified works in this thread. Give some info on the description, yr, exterior color and the package u have. keep seeing and hearing different interior colors and wood designs. I searched and didn't see anyone post this question.

Thanks for helping a rookie ;)

If you have no Cadillac, what's the difference ???

Interiors, paint codes and trim/accessory level packages are found in the RPO build list for a particular car - many, many possibilities.

Google a website for GM RPO codes or use the CompNine site to decipher a specific VIN car,

I have googled images and they don't list the color or wood description. I am in search of an 05-09 STS and seeing pics will show me the many different possibilities. I know where to find the RPO codes to know what package they have. But that's not what I'm interested in. I'm more interested in seeing pics, especially with the owners on this site, they can tell me what they have. I'm a guy who has to see it to visualize it

The wood varies to some degree regardless of the RPO/stated wood type. It was matched at the factory.

There really is no order to the wood grain. They are just random plastic applique' inlays that have PC/ABS molded to the backside of them. There is actually no real wood.

I didn't realize that people on here are that lazy to go outside or garage, with a camera, to take a pic of ur interior and post them on here. I would do it for another member.

Forget it. I'll just lurk for now on and not ask dumb questions. Well until I buy a cadillac

Hey! I provided you with some pics :)

Also met a local member today in person, sold him the old front door Bose speakers from my 2001 STS...

We aren't all lazy...Although doing a Google search for "2006 Cadillac STS interior" (https://www.google.com/search?q=2006+cadillac+sts+interior&bav=on.2,or.&bvm=bv.46471029,d.aWc&biw=1755&bih=854&wrapid=tlif136850627990910&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=rr-RUc3xM8PxygHdv4GgCQ) worked fairly well for me...

I'm familiar with forums and what they're about. I'm 37yrs old that has been on forums for almost 7yrs. U r correct moistcabbage, on what u said, but 2 members posted, "google search". They couldve contributed in this thread. I did google before I started this thread. Or else I would've bumped and old thread, if it exsisted.

Edit: if u search "INTERIOR" in this forum section 05+ STS. U will notice that there isn't a thread titled "INTERIOR"

It is real wood. A veneer on plastic.
There is no wood in any of those nice looking trim pieces on the dash, IP, console, or door spears. Older models might have had wood veneer but '04 and up is plastic. I launched the parts for the GMX-272 (DTS), a sister plant molded the parts for the GMX-295 (STS) and the plastic applique's came from our thermoforming plant. They are thin ABS substrate wood print with either a PVC or acrylic clear coat.

The last real wood veneers that we used were for the Lincoln P/U and those parts were packaged together with corresponding Lot/serial #'s.

I launched the GMX-222 (Buick Lucerne) at the same time.
We received the base film from Avery films and then thermoformed it on our presses. I've seen hundreds of thousands made.
We made 70% of the trim, IP and console pieces in those cars.

Pontiac I could stand to be corrected but I know on the domestic versions that we supplied they were plastic.
They were called: "Ash Burl", "Dark Mahogany", "Dragon Maple", "Eucalyptus" and such.
You and I have the same interiors and the only thing I don't know cause we did not mold it is the wood "like" wrap around the steering wheel.
Export versions could have been sourced by another supplier that's why yours might say "Made in United Kingdom".
We would have problems getting good lead times on film because other suppliers were also using it.

BTW, I am not trying to argue with anyone on here. I know it is sometimes hard to interpret word inflection over the internet.
I just know out of the 100's of thousands that I have molded none contained real wood. There might be some high end special orders that
we did not source that might be real wood, but real wood is not very cost effective. I also launched the faux wood grain for the P415/P450 Ford F150 platform and that is the same plastic applique'.

So, I then am forced to wonder how the GM attorneys allowed all of the advertising and brochures to specifically say that the interior featured "genuine Eucalyptus accents on the center stack, instrument panel, shifter plate, door armrests, and steering wheel"...that quote is directly from the 1SC and 1SF package descriptions in the 2006 STS brochure. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that I'm a bit pissed off that the General lied about it if true.

When I want to look at cars, interior and exterior (and I do it a lot), I go to Cars.com and look at new and used cars. They have tons of pictures. I even have the Cars.com app on my phone and look all the time with it.

You can do what you like, but that would be way easier than harassing members on here to try to get them do something for you.

certain veneers will look like plastic or a fake print or something like that.
Most likely it was coated with a protective layer on front and back that when heated in the mold would dissolve to create a better transparent bond with the top coating and underlayment.
Since wood this thin would be rather easy to break.

@ Ghost - you should drive more, I just hit 80k miles on my 08.
I don't recall what year yours is but the wood you have under the shifter looks different than mine but the rest is the same.

I would really like the dark black/grey wood from the V series.
Not sure it would look right with my cashmere interior though

Hmmmm looking at interior designs is far from knowing what I'm looking at. I'm not familiar with cadillac and want to see what's out there. I'm in the market for one and waiting for the one to scream to me "BUY ME!"

OT: I heard mixed review about the STS motor and its problems and other stuff. With the research, I have found out that it was mainly and commonly known on V6 motors and not so much with the V8 northstar. Without this forum, I wouldn't even think twice on purchasing a Cadillac. Bottom line, I know nothing about these cars. If it didn't cost $5 a gal for gas, I wouldn't mind driving around and looking at different STS interiors. Unfortunately, there isn't many dealers around my town that stock them. Now that here discontinued, I could expect more pop up at dealers in the next yr or so.

If so, is there another Cadillac Forum that I can go to that will help without the bashing or criticizing my thread? 3 out of 3 pages and only 3 or so members posted pics. Seriously? You guys post like I havent done any research. I would like you guys to use the zip code I posted, and see how many 05-09 STS you can find within 50 miles from where I live. Dont specify color, motor, mileage, etc.

Thank you for taking the time help with my inquiry. Unfortunately, Portland is 2hrs from where I live. If you check Autotrader, you will also noticed that there is only a handful of STS within 50 miles from where I live. And less than that in V8 motors. I did go and check out the silver STS with custom wheels that is only 2 miles away. They didnt have the V6 STS in stock at the time I went.

Since I probably wont post anything more. I might as well go out with a bang. From those members who bashed on me and not contributed to this thread. You guys should get off your high horse and get the stick out your @$$. Those kind of comments makes you look like your to stuck up to help. I can see how the 05-11 STS forum is small, while other parts of this forum is more active. Criticizing people just scares them away from wanting to post or just leave this forum from all the hatred you put onto them. Now if your just naive on what interior you have, then maybe you should just keep your comments to yourself and not waste my time on having to post this hate post

Im feeling like there is a lack of support on helping other members in here. Am I asking to much on wanting to see your interior and specify wood/color? If so, is there another Cadillac Forum that I can go to that will help without the bashing or criticizing my thread? 3 out of 3 pages and only 3 or so members posted pics. Seriously? You guys post like I havent done any research. I would like you guys to use the zip code I posted, and see how many 05-09 STS you can find within 50 miles from where I live. Dont specify color, motor, mileage, etc.
zip, 98409

Thank you for taking the time help with my inquiry. Unfortunately, Portland is 2hrs from where I live. If you check Autotrader, you will also noticed that there is only a handful of STS within 50 miles from where I live. And less than that in V8 motors. I did go and check out the silver STS with custom wheels that is only 2 miles away. They didnt have the V6 STS in stock at the time I went.

Since you think everyone has the time to take pics of their interior and upload them, it's obvious you are sitting in your mom's basement with nothing else to do. Good luck!

Check ebay. They have pic of interiors galore!

Now beat it kid! (If you're not kid, you act like one!)

I had to double check that I was on the Cadillac forum... For a second there, I thought I was on the R6 forum. This was in intertaining thread, not at all useful, but just like a train wreck, I couldn't look away.
OP, if you haven't already left... This forum is very helpful when looking for guidence on repairs, modifications, ect. As far as getting us to just take photos of our interiors for you to look at goes, obviously not what you were expecting. There are only a few otions when it comes to the interior of the 05-10 STS, even fewer when looking into the V model, whatever you have seen by doing a search on line is probably about it... There are several pictures posted in the "show us your" sticky as well

Is the vent trim piece interchangeable? I prefer the wood piece rather than the aluminum I currently have.

Ludacrisvp

Yes it should be. I covered mine with black vinyl because the sun glare from the aluminum one was maddening.

09 STS-V. Also, used to have an 07 STS v8 and a piece of the plastic crap that covers the wood on the shifter broke off, exposing the real wood beneath. So it's real wood as far as I'm concerned. Also, if you don't have any productive comments to add to a thread, don't add a comment to begin with. If it's too difficult to photograph the interior of your car to help out a fellow forum member, whether they are a current or potential owner, your response is not needed. He clearly searched and wasn't able to find any pictures. If you were so good at finding pictures, you should've sent him links to where you found them instead of creating a hostile atmosphere on the forums, especially for a new member.

^^^I really like the 2 tone dash. Do you know what kind of wood trimming you have?

Guy.Seminerio
06-04-13, 12:32 AM
It's called olive ash burled wood trim. That's what's put on the sts-v.

is3_ftw
06-04-13, 12:40 AM
^^^^ah. as much as I like the 2 tone, all black is definitely my thing.

Guy.Seminerio
06-04-13, 01:13 AM
I agree (although I may be biased.) But the two tone looks a lot nicer in person. The pictures don't do it justice. Maybe with less sunlight it would look better. Like right before sunset or on a cloudy day.

Yeah, sun was shinning bright behind the car... Beleive it or not, I have limo tint all the way around and I was still getting serious glare. I really like the 2-tone myself. I did mix it up with the ebony "V" floor mats to give it more contrast. I'll try for better pics today.

Guy.Seminerio

Yeah I noticed the black floor mats. Limo tints really? Wow it's bright in there.

I've never seen a red 2005-6 STS with a black interior. I wonder if they didn't make that combination.

Cool. After I wear out this one, I'll look for a 1SG with ACC in that combination.

Guy.Seminerio

I don't know.. You know what they say about going black. I feel like most reds have the tan interior. Red and black is a good combo.

Just saw a red with grey interior with a 2 tone black and grey dash. Not sure what the wood trim is but it was dark reddish in color. That shyt was panty drop sexy. Now to find one within 100 miles from me Grrrrrr!!

A few more pictures. Came out better because it was a cloudy day.

Personally, I much preferred the Zebrano wood color in my '03 FWD STS to the burlwood that Cadillac went to for the new RWD/AWD STS.

I had to laugh when I saw the cross hanging from your rear view mirror, made me wonder if you were praying that the car wouldn't break down on the highway. :)

Guy.Seminerio

Hahah I always hang rosary beads in the car. Nah the v is a tank. Reliable. If anything it's so I don't get pulled over.

bwv565

Nah the v is a tank.

I totally understand what you mean. I had an '04 CTS in which I was involved in a terrible head-on collision where my car spun around 360 degrees, hit 3 other cars. The car had $17,000 in damage (was not totalled though) but I walked out of the car, completely unscathed. This was the 3.6L V6, not a V but regardless...the car is a tank and a good one at that.

Guy.Seminerio
06-06-13, 12:01 AM
Well it's good to hear you're ok but I was actually referring to the car being a tank mechanically. Good to know caddies are still tanks physically these days in the plastic bumper revolution. My uncle always jokes that they're gonna make the bumpers out of cardboard next.
