: Which Ones? JE5 or J55?

I went to Advance Auto Parts yesterday to purchase new rotors and brake pads and was told there are two different types. One is J55 and JE5. I asked how I would find out which one I needed and they told me it should be on a label in my glove box (the RPO codes) but nothing there or on the door posts. Any idea where I can find this information out or where the RPO codes are?

Thanks

Rick

Look on the underside of the spare tire lid.

Or measure your rotors 12.5" or 13.5"

If you have 17" wheels you have the JE5. If you have 18's look at you rear rotors. If they almost completly fill your wheels then you have J55's the fronts will be completly full also.

Or just turn over your spare tire cover and read your brake type.

That's exactly where it was, thank you. Turns out I use the JE5. Thanks for all your answers.

Unfortunately the RPO code led me astray. It said "JE5" but they were too small. I called my dealer and he looked up my VIN number and told me they take J55 brakes. Go figure.

That is very very strange. Does the vin on your rpo sticker match the cars?

Another way is look at your front fog lights if it has the intake duct for brake cooling you have J55

I'm not so sure that this method is consistent. On my car, I have the fog lights, and the j55. But the duct is blocked off both in the wheel well and by the fog lights

Thanks for the clarification. Very strange.
