Hi everyone,
I'm back with a 'new' 77 CDV. These pictures were taken the first day I got it, after a quick wash. I ran a compression test on it (cold) and got 150 psi all around. I threw some AC Delco platinum plugs in it, and it purrs. It looks like there are some small rust spots I need to attend to, and a few parts I need to grab. I feel confident I can do right by this car, and make it look like it should. The knowledge of this fourm, and the good people in the parts section make fixing up these cars possible.
Thanks,
Tom

she needs some work, but classy as ever! It has rust in some really weird spots though. Where are you located, and how long has it been sitting (looks like a northern car that sat for a while)

I agree. the color combo reminds me of the caddy in the corey haim/ feldman movie "license to drive"

I picked her up from an insurance auction, so no telling how long it was sitting. I live in Galveston Tx, and the papers in the car shows it was purchased and driven in Houston since new. I think the car was running and driving until it got side swiped on the driver's side, which resulted in a busted rear filler panel, a dent in the lower door, and a busted side light.

Looks like moisture on the hood, so I assume the original paint has fade and oxidation. You can bring it back with an afternoon polishing. Try removing the inside door panel and rolling out the door skin with a ball bat or an axe handle. Sometimes you can straighten the skin enough to satisfy and you touch it up by matching the paint at any good body repair supply house. :)

BTW, if you can't get the left front turn signal and bezel locally, a 78 SDV just showed up in one of the yards here.

Gorgeous car, and the Seafoam paint with the white top and white leather interior really pops! A little spit and polish and she'll be a stunning example. :)

Very nice! Has the hood ornament been replaced? The colored one didn't appear until '78.

I like the white interior and top. It goes well with that color!

Good eye! Previous owner did it. I never noticed.
