: How strong is the factory short block and Transmission?

Hey guys im new to the board and looking to buy a CTS-V Coupe(maybe today)possibly. Im going to do a decent amount of drag racing with it and was wondering how fast some of you have been(in the 1/4) with a stock bottom end and a stock untouched Auto transmission.my game plan was to do all the bolt-ons,heads,camshaft and maybe a nice nitrous system. This is going to be my street car so I don't really wanna push the envelope any more than that and do a forged motor etc etc... Any feedback on some of your alls combos that are similar would be gladly appreciated. Thanks

Well i pulled the trigger and bought a grey 2011 ctsv coupe..Thanks for the heads up! What is best pulley combo for an unported blower bolt on setup with stock injectors? Sorry for the beginner questions..

Junkie's run a 9.76 on a stock short block & tranny...

You'll be stretching the injectors with a 2.5 upper

Wow so I assume the factory injectors are pretty small? I may go ahead An pick up some id1000's right away.. So I assume a 2.55 upper and what lower pulley is recommended that's makes best power on a non ported blower?
