: Another radio question....

Today I swapped out my radio with another fully functional 1971 Cadillac radio. I learned that my radio wasn't the problem like I thought (it turns on but produces no sound). I opened up the windshield and looked at the antenna to determine that was probably a part of the problem since it never tunes to anything. I doubt a new universal antenna and plugged it in but no sound came from that either, all I can get now if static which is still a small improvement. It doesn't make any difference if the new antenna is plugged in or not though. Any other idea what I should do? I am stumped at this point.

How do you know it's fully functional? Did you bench test it?

Opened up the windshield? :hmm:

Plugging in a standard antenna requires it to be grounded! Just holding it while plugged in will produce nothing but static.
