: exhaust question

i have read a few threads on here about the magnaflow exhaust for the sts-v i'm wanting to know i had saw one guy had bought the mufflers tips and x-pipe im assuming just would have to take all to a muffler shop and have it all welded in? i'm not imagining that the mufflers will be able to be just slid over existing pipes after mufflers were cut off? any help would be appreciated

Yes, the Magnaflow set up in custom and needs to be welded in. I would suggest you do the mufflers only first and then if you want more do the X-pipe for extreme or the resonated X-pipe for mild.

Did you change the factory resonator? If not put in the Magnaflow 10791 X-Pipe.

Yep I changed to the X pipe also. It's louder than stock and a better note too. I was just expecting more from some of the words used to describe the set up.

any notice in horsepower gains just from putting new mufflers and new xpipe under the car yall guys know of?? as quiet as the car is i would imagine its got to be a little restrictive

Can't say that I noticed any difference as far as performance

Nope you might get 5rwhp at stock hp levels. Even gutting the cats was only good for 10-12 Rwhp
