Zurich- The Cadillac ATS was given the prestigious "red dot design award: product design 2013" by a panel of international judges in this year's competition.

In an evaluation process lasting several days, the Cadillac ATS won over the jury of nearly 40 renowned professionals "in search of excellence" for the best products of the year. "With your elaborate and innovative design you have proven your know-how and competed with the best in your industry," wrote Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the red dot.

The Cadillac ATS sic ceded against an ambitious filed of competitors. This year, 1865 manufacturers, designers and architects from 54 countries submitted red dot quality award entries with their products and projects. The competitors entered 4662 works and only the best products were bestowed the esteemed award. In a very tough category, the Cadillac ATS came out on top as one of the winners for its "aesthetic form and lasting trends."

"We are very honored to receive this award," said Mark Adams, executive director of design, Global Cadillac. "It's another tremendous achievement for the ATS, and it underscores the opportunity we have before us to define the next chapter of the Cadillac brand."

In 2012, the Cadillac ATS was chosen in the US as "Car of the Year" by Esquire: "Luxury Car of the Year" by Popular Mechanics magazine and "Vehicle of the Year" by the Motor Press Guild. More recently, a panel of 49 journalists from the United States and Canada named the 2013 ATS the North American Car of the Year at the North American International Auto Shows.

The ATS is sold in Europe since the beginning of the 2013.
