SWEET. The V1 is hands down the best detector. I have mine hard wired into the light above the rear view and suction cupped right next to it. It is protected from the sun as the tint strip on the windshield covers it and it is also protected from prying eyes as it can not be seen from outside. Having hardwired is the best way to go, no cord dangling and you can never forget to shut it off or turn it on. Only speeding ticket Ive ever gotten was because it was in the OFF mode :)

I love it so far, I've had it for a few weeks and im blown away at the distance I can pick up on a highway patrol. I'd recommend it to anyone in the market for a R.D.

If you don't mind me asking, how exactly did you mount it to the rear of the rear view? And how difficult was it to run the cables? I've been thinking of buying one to replace my Escort 9500, as well as running a laser shifter like I had on a previous car... I love the rear view mount, even though that area is getting cluttered for me with the lane departure camera, EZPass, and inspection sticker so far... :)

What did it cost?

The v1 its self is $400

The concealed display is $40

Blendmount is $80

The mute button is $8

also I purchased a few extra cords around $10 each and some Rj11 splitters around $3 each to connect two cords together to make them long enough for what I want them for.

I purchased a rear view mirror mount made by blendmount, its super basic to run the cables I just connected my hardwire connection to the fuse box under the back seat (i used a "spare" slot in the driver side back seat fuse box). And ran the cables under the hard panel that goes around the door frame on the bottom. when I got to the dash its easy to just slide it in between the weathering strip and the dash.. once you get to the airbag pillar you are able to give that a little tug and tuck the cord behind that getting you to the windshield which you tuck between the top of the windshield and the roofing...follow that to the rearview and come down on it...
