: 1975 500cid exhaust manifold

Hi everyone!

I'm a 20 years old Caddy lover from Quebec (not very good in english, please forgive me :ill: ), I've owned a 72 Fleetwood and last week I've bought a 75 SedanDeville with the 500cid engine
The car was straight-pipe (exhaust cutted after the downpipe) so it was too noisy for ride peacefully in downtown with cops that don't really like the noisy cars XD
So I've made install an exhaust and muffler on the Caddy and surprise: the straight-pipe loud noise hids a really wonderful cracked manifold noise...

I must fix it but for that I must find a new exhaust manifold but according to the guy of muffler shop, it doesn't exists...
I've quickly checked on the net and I think he's right :(
So how can I do?
Does somebody know a place or a website where I can find a manifold?
Must I buy two headers with dual exhaust? ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) :ill:
Is it possible to fix original cracked manifold with a weld? It should be really easier...

Thanks in advance, I'm very disappointed and I hope there is a cheaper solution than the headers
Have a nice day

You can try to have the thing welded, but that takes some real talent.

There ARE places to buy reproduction manifolds and I recall them being about $200 US dollars.

They Potter or MTS for starters. IF they don't have them they probably know where they are.
I betting it's the driver's side ... right?

Be EXTREMELY careful in removing your manifold ... The bolts can easily break off requiring you to
remove the head ..... In fact, if you are not in a hurry .... Just remove the head & have an engine shop
remove them for you. Much easier removing head bolts than trying to work out those rusted frozen bolts out
without breaking them while they are still deep inside the engine compartment....

Wow, great! :cool2: Thank you really much for your answer!
I did'nt think to this other problem, I didn't think it was so hard to extract this "fossilized" bolts :ill:
Great thanks for the Potter and MTS tracks, I'll check them too, all the solutions are good to know and review!! :-D

I've found two manifolds on eBay, what you think about it everyone?

The first one is new and the second is remanufactured, I'm wondering if the new is an OEM part or a jobber...

I will take the gasket on Rockauto, someone knows Rockauto?
Are they fast acting for ship items?

Hey, if anyone needs one again, check out cad500parts.com. They have what you need. Either custom ($495 for set both sides) or a replacement ($295) for the left hand side header (that is most prone to cracking).
