If you recall, I had an oil leak in the front of my engine, I've noticed the oil leak has stopped, would anyone here know why? Its stopped leaking for the past 500-600 miles.

I had my oil changed around 400 miles ago, strange. I really wonder if the person who sold me the car put some kind of seal stopper in there, and It took awhile to fix the leak. When I first got the car, it was clean, but im sure they cleaned it up before they sold it to me.

The old oil was 10w40, new oil is 10w30 Valvoline Durablend "synthetic blend." The only other thing I could think off, oil dried and sealed the leak? I dont even know if thats possible. :drinker Oh well, im happy.

Your oil leak could have just been a loose oil plug on the oil pan which was taken off to do the oil change and then replaced and properly tightened correctly so it stopped the leak or the oil filter could have been leaking too if it was loose and the new one could have fixed the problem These are the only 2 ways the oil change could have affected your oil leaking problem otherwise the oil may just be dripping somewhere else and it just seems like it stopped.

Just make sure to check your oil level once a week.

Sometimes you have to not worry about it. It may be nice to know, but if it stopped leaking I wouldn't make a fuss about it.
