I just ran the VIN and it has had the vally cover replaced at 1643 miles, probably a leak and better yet a transmision replaced at 5713 miles. It must have died on the road because it showed roadside towing service at 5700 miles.

Selling with no warranty and want warranty money for the car. I almost laughed at the girl when she said she wasn't sure that she wasnt sure on the warranty.. Ok, I lied.. I did laugh.

I offered them $41k and told her that I also would not offer that unless she could find out for me where the aftermarket work was performed.

I won't be buying this car though. I believe I will be picking up a Raven here in about a week from a private seller.

Powertrain mods such as cam and porting/polishing would very likely void the warranty, at least the powertrain warranty. Tranny gone at 4700 miles implies to me, along with the other mods, that the likely cause is drag-racing or some other way of overheating the tranny. The car is priced as if it was a boulevard-driven sun-belt car with a solid warranty and clean CarFAX.

I think that a better way to get a car like this is to buy a car that is indeed a stone-cold-stock boulevard-driven sun-belt car with a solid warranty and CarFAX, drive it for a couple of months to be sure that everything is solid and make any repairs that warranty would help with, then do my own mods.
