: Which OBD2 BT to buy?

Just bought a Parrot AS head unit and want to add torque to it after I root it.

Which scanner works with the V1? Most on ebay seem to be priced at < $20

Also, has anyone added a head unit and integrated the stock GPS antennae? Less concerned with BT handsfree/mic (i rarely if ever take calls while driving) but id rather have zero wires protruding anywhere and keep a clean/stockish look.

Just get the cheap Chinese one on eBay. I have had it for about 2 years with no issues. Its got a blue and orange sticker on it and says ELM 327 interface on it. it was just under $20 at the time. I use torque on my Galaxy Nexus with it.

And how long did it take to ship? I've heard of issues with the Chinese ones and long shipping delays...

Mine shipped from Los Angeles Or something. Its just the cheapest I could find. I never order off eBay unless its currently in the USA or Canada.

I don't believe so. There is a different app. I'm just not sure what it is...

I didn't see Torque although I did see a couple/few others. Seems like they'll do the job though. I think I might have to do this too. Pretty cheap and easy way to know a little better what's going on.

Agreed. They can read anything your ecu reads. At least torque can.

Taking video with your phone and overlaying it with gauges is my favorite...

Yea but it never seems to catch up for some reason. Plus if you really want to make some nice videos, you have to get one of those really nice setups. A few guys on here run them. I don't know what they are called, and I dont want to know either. It will just make me want to buy one

Does the Parrot head unit have a USB port? I would spring for the wired one and then gut it to connect Pin 2 to the GM Class 2 serial data, 12V and Ground so that you don't need to give up your OBD2 port.

the parrot has 3 + another specifically for higher amp USB connections (i.e. ipad)
