This is a post from the c ad illac p ower f orum. I figured I would post this incase somebody needed an engine. Would be a shame if they went to waste like this. I'm assuming the guy would probably let everything go for scrap value. There was an update that they would be scrapped today if they aren't sold. Here is what was posted about it:

"Ok Gentleman,

Juan has told me that he's cleaning out a storage container to make room for storing boat parts.

He has 5 complete 500 cadillac engines and several transmissions that he's selling to reduce his inventory.

3 engines are early closed chamber engines and 2 are 1975-76 engines.

Marty wasn't interested in them, so no need suggestion that he might want them.

Location Boise, Idaho, but delivery out West would not be a problem.

He also makes several trips a month down to Salt Lake City for business and would probably deliver to SLC for free.

If the aren't sold by the end of March he say there going to be heading to China

Call him for details

That is too bad. How much do y'all think it would cost to ship one?

Somebody should rent a uhaul and make a trip. Might be able to sell one or two along the way home. A picture would be worth 1000 words.

I'm thinking depending on the freight company and distance probably around 200-250 bucks. I wonder if this guy might know somebody with a freight company since he says he can deliver to the salt lake city area? It would be worth calling him to see.

I just called and he wants $2k for everything but he may have two of the engines sold. He said he has other stock caddy stuff but and the deadline has moved to mid april. For some reason, I thought he was scrapping them but he's selling them.

I placed an ad like that last summer. A nice "rebuilt Ford F150 300/I6 engine going to the scrap yard" because nobody wants to buy it. The Ford engine didn't make it to the scrapper yet, still hoping for that sale, but it is outside now. Sometimes you just need the space.

Looks like the guy was BSing. It's funny because he goes from scrapping them which would probably only get him about 170-200 bucks scrap value and now wants 2k? I guess they'll end up sitting.
