View Full Version : Tpms messing up

Was out last night picking my friend up from work then went to eat came back to the car and the tire pressure light came on started driving came off then back on , then all tires read even except one it said 0 I checked all the tires in the morning checked for a nail or flat or something and nothing was there so I checked the caps too and nothing then later everything seemed fine then it came back again, but I know the temp did drop a couple times to at least 60 which is really cold here and someone told me it could be all the tires might be getting crazy cause of the temp change so I might need to reset them, but I'm not sure , any ideas ? Input?

Did it read 0 or did the display show "--". If it reads dashes I think it means the sensor is not working correctly. This has happened to me a few times where the sensor works then doesn't work on and off. I take my car to my local Wal-Mart auto and they replace and reset and relearn the sensor for about 60 bucks.

the sensor read 0 but when I check it with my tire guage they are all 36

I have a very similar issue when ever there's a temperature fluctuation. Damn 60 degrees, I don't think its been over 40 here for about 5 months.

Yeah I'm guessing it might be the temp change but on the way to my friends house I hit a pot hole and then the light went off and so did the message and the other day it hit 60 here and the light and message came on then later that day it got up to 83 and I was on the road for minute then the light came off and all the tires read even but when I first started it up the one that was on the message was reading 25 while the others read 35,

You have a sensor going bad...
Sooner or later you will have to replace it.

I have one that doesn't read. I can still drive perfect but I have that orange light on. My mechanic will replace the sensor.

In the last year I have replaced 3 & the 4th is acting up. Do you need tires? Bite the bullet & replace all 4& you're done. Once 1 acts up the rest will follow.

no the tires are still pretty good, I bought the car pretty good condition cause the guy who traded it barely drove it cause he had two, the one I have and a white one , and I am thinking to just replace em all but is there a brand that's the best to get ,?
