Do you still have a stock exhuast with that 18 lbs of boost.? And if you do still have a stock exhaust do you have problems with melting your stock cats with all that boost.

----------

The reason I ask is I'm thinking of putting on a 10 inch lower pulley and keep the stock exhaust. I like the car quiet if I can.

As my sig says... 100% stock exhaust, including the crimped pipe. Pushing 10,000 miles with mods, and so far, knock knock, no issues with the cats.

I do have a upgraded Katech HX, as heat will become an issue.

I was talking with a guy who has 13000 on his V. 16 lbs of boost and melted his cats and had to put on new pipes and headers due to heat. I'd inspect your car and see if its still ok

So as far as you are concerned going 16lbs of boost with stock exhaust I should be fine as a DD.?

Well, using myself as the example, yes.

Cat temps are a function of a number of things, not just boost. The tune is very important for this. If you're tune is off, you could fry the cats at stock boost.
