: Dealer installed Corsa - Does it drone?

I'm thinking of buying a used set of dealer installed Corsa's because the exhaust I bought the car with drones very bad. I have a mild cam in the car and plan on doing headers with no cats very soon. Does anybody have this set up? Does it drone at all? Would there be any performnce disadvantage with those or just oem mufflers?

Thanks in advance. This site is a wealth of knowledge!

I have this setup with headers and high flows... No drone it's quiet until you drop the hammer... I even have the mid section resonators removed with an x pipe in place and I still find it tolerable

Just add j pipes. For minimal cost they will kill your drone.

Corsa has no drone.

If you're buying a used Corsa, check the welds on the resonators namely fronts. Mine cracked and leaked, failed state inspection ...Corsa replaced for free.

Thanks for the input guys. I already tried the Hemholtz pipes and it took the drone from 1400-1800 to just 1500, which just happens to be my cruising rpm most the time. I found a full set of Corsa exhaust for $400 shipped to me, used. So, I'm goin that route. It will save me a $1000 for now so I can get my headers and tune. I may go with the latest Corsa setup later on. Thanks!

If i were you, headers, high flow cats and exhaust cutouts with a RPM activated switch and be done with it...

Your current resonator is an x-pipe, so no need to replace it for more power..

I hated my corsas from all my rides, i had three, and the ONLY reason i am keepin the one on my v is cause its Ti...So i am dealing with it...The hummer was SILLY LOUD, the one on my GTO was also loud even after addin two resonators...

Naf, which Corsa's do you have? Didn't know they made Titanium.

And the higher price inlcuded "drone," which the standard Corsa systems do not have.

I wouldn't have Corsa if it droned. My only complaint is the metal rasp at decel but hard to year from inside the car and happens quickly. NO drone.

the O pipe is alleged to eliminate drone as well.

I also have Corsa headers, no cats, and it is pretty quiet at idle, no drone, and loud as hell above 3k rpm with your foot in the gas.

Do you think two U pipes would help?

I did the two "U" pipes but could only get 24", the formula called for 28". Maybe that's why it still drones. Tired of f'in with it. Just gonna get some Corsa's.
