: Locked out by theft deterrent system

When I first got my DTS it wouldn't crank. No fuel, but it would spark. Eventually I narrowed the problem down to the fact that the PCM had shut down due to an unknown theft deterrent problem. I have the original key and exciter ring for that system. I replaced it with the PCM, ignition lock, exciter and key from a wrecked DTS. It was all working fine, except for the Service Theft Deterrent message on the DIC. No big deal.

Today I pulled the codes for the first time and cleared them. Now the car won't crank - seems to be the theft deterrent again.

What can I do to get around this? If I swap the exciter and ignition lock again will the PCM learn the new password? The error I was getting is a B3055. Not sure what it is, but it's causing me problems now.

Any ideas? I was just about to put tags on this thing and get it on the road.
