They dont have Vin reports for cars that old, as far as i know......

Those old cars are exempt from those sorts of things for titling purposes.....

You can't. Don't worry about it. If the person you are buying it from seems honest and says it hasn't been wrecked, then your best bet is to trust him. If you don't trust him, it'd be best to walk away.
