I'm a big guy and want a car with lots of room. For those that know the NFL, picture someone like Gilbert Brown from the packers only a couple inches shorter. :yup:

I sat in a 2001 DHS and wasn't to impressed with the space from the drivers seat. What generation or model of Caddy should I look at?

The one's made in the mid 70's (the eldorados anyway) are HUGE as well as gas guzzlers unfortunately. The ones from about 79-85 are a bit scaled down, but not nearly as much as what was introduced with the '86 model.

How about mid 90's Fleetwoods. Are those similar in size to the DHS I was in?

Way bigger. 94-96 Fleetwood Broughams are awesome cars. LT1 V8, can tow 7000 lbs with towing package.. but best of all : LT1 V8 :halo:

Lots of things you can do to tune it with that drivetrain as well.

Jeff,
6'-6", 276lb here.
I prefer most of the coupes from '79 or so back with the T/T steering.
The four doors are too hard to get in and out of, especially when you install
brackets to position the seat 6 inches further back than stock.
(Enough room for dancing ! ! ) :bouncy:
My current one is a 1970 CDV with T/T.
NO complaints.

if you are looking for more room then yeah id go with a big body Fleetwood (93-96). i dont remember but i think its 72 inches but that could be the outer dimensions. trust me, youll have plenty of room. the only complaint really is head room but you can lower the seat so that is what id go with. oh wait I already did.

I agree with the Fleetwood Brougham.

The link below shows some pictures of mine to give you an idea of the size.. They really are VERY big...
