well i just bought my 1985 brougham 21,300 orig miles awesome ride. my question is when iwas under the car at the mechanics i noticed one of my air lines to my drivers rear shock had come off, it looked like when the tail pipe or muffler was replaced the line was routed wrong any ways my question really is the line is plastic and it has a molded rubber boot with a spring clip around it and it appeared to just push on until yhe spring clip set into a groove on the nipple of the shock id this normal? i would think the air line would have a threaded connection? also the pass side shock has one line and the drivers side has two lines. also the system is working i had my wife get in and start it the pump came on so did the light in the dash then i sat on the rear bumper and again the sysytem came on and i could feel it rise, but the car does not sit level, i see where there is a arm attached to the passenger rear control arm and to a module with a swivel link at top so i suppose it just needs a little adjustment. also it appears to settle over night a bit is this normal? and 1 more thing my dad's 79 sedan deville had a chime that would sound also while the level ride was activated did they get rid of that on later year cars? sorry for the short novel but any insight is appreciated.

An 85 with only 21,000 miles, that's damn near unbelievable!

It's probably not sitting level because of the shock that isn't connected. I thought there was only supposed to be one sensor for it? Maybe there is 2 I don't know. There isn't any chime or anything to tell you that it's doing anything just the light on the dashboard.

That is the "factory" shock setup. The shocks are either the original or were replaced with ones from the dealer. The connector just clips onto the nipple. Pop it back on and check for leaks via careful visual inspection and maybe soapy water in a spray bottle.

Factory air shocks had one supply hose going to a rear shock, then a line crossing over to the other. The shock on the driver side should have the 2 ports. the supply line runs down that side of the frame. To raise the rear, loosen the arm on the module you found, should have 2 nuts. One of the holes is elongated allowing the arm to raise or lower relative to the module. Raise the arm in relation to the module, the pump will come on sooner and raise the car a little bit more.
