: What do you want on your caddy.

What do you want on your caddy or done to it that is not original. For me there is two things that stand out improved sounds. I love the look of wire wheels as long it is done right. Not to big or extreme, classy, 15 or 17. Not too deep. Caddy wires for example but i'll take a few other brands. But some of the hubcaps from the 50's through the 70's are gorgeous.

Modern sound system, but it would have to be hidden away so the car looks completely stock, and it would have to be totally reversible so as not to harm the integrity of the car.

That is the key it needs to be reversible, well except for that rare few occasions, look at some of Boyd's work. With a wash and wax i'm good to go. Keep it simple and plain. I love the look of stock radio when you have a custom hidden system in the car.

My 1979 deVille has a couple of practical non original changes:

"Lace" style alloys from a 1993-96 Fleetwood with 1993-96 Fleetwood Brougham center caps. It may be psychological, however I feel the reduced unsprung weight of the aluminum wheels makes the car accelerate and handle more enjoyably. I also like the more modern appearance of the aluminum wheels compared to the original wire wheel covers. The wheels are from a Cadillac so the modification doesn't seem incorrect, but it does bother me that my car has crests and "V" ornamentation and the wheel caps have crest and wreaths, someday I will have to figure out a custom solution for that. At some point I would also like to have this set of wheels chromed too.

Gentex self dimming inside rearview mirror with compass and outside temperature display, plus additional map lights. This is such a nice and useful feature to install in an old car. Got mine from http://www.mitocorp.com/

As mentioned above, an audio upgrade would be nice, either improve the original ETR unit or maybe a Retro Auto Sound Model Two.

I would have to agree with 77CDV, completely stock with some Vogue white wall tires (and yellow stripe), a double din in-dash with GPS and a subwoofer in the trunk. :cloud9:
